Fiona Kirkham-Wilson is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow (ACF) training in Rheumatology at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre in Southampton, UK.  She graduated from GKT School of Medicine (King’s College London) in 2019 with a Distinction in Clinical Practice and worked as a full-time clinician until the award of her ACF in 2023.

Earlier this year, she was awarded an ESCEO-IOF Young Investigator Award for her work on how early life influences the risk of experiencing knee pain from osteoarthritis as we get older.

Her primary research interest is the development of osteoarthritis in women based on their hormonal changes and the use of HRT, and she plans to start a PhD in this field within the next few years.
