Since the beginning of her career, Silvia has always specialised in gynaecological endocrinology under the guidance of Prof Nappi. During her training, she had the opportunity to deepen her understanding of the correlation between sexual hormones and female well-being from puberty to post-menopause.
She has worked as a gynaecologist consultant at the Level III centre for the diagnosis and treatment of headaches at Mondino in Italy, presenting a thesis on medication overuse headache and its psycho-sexual impact.
Currently, as a gynaecologist at the European Institute of Oncology in Italy, she focuses on the quality of life of oncological patients, particularly managing early menopause following oncological treatments for hormone-responsive and non-hormone-responsive tumours. She is coordinator of the Menopause Clinic at the Women’s Cancer Center of the Institute.
In 2024, she obtained a diploma as a sexual consultant from AISPA school.
During her clinical practice, she has participated in numerous clinical studies involving drugs, supplements, and medical devices for the treatment of climacteric symptoms in patients with oncological menopause.
She also specialises in the lower genital tract diseases and HPV-related carcinogenesis and is the co-author of several scientific publications on hormonal function, menopause, and sexual function.
