Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) presents a significant challenge to women’s health, with far-reaching implications, both physically and emotionally. The potential implications include negative impacts on quality of life, fertility, bone health, cardiovascular function and cognitive health. Although hormone therapy (HT) can mitigate some of these effects, significant questions remain about the optimal management of POI.
To improve the care of women with POI, an international expert group, including representation from ESHRE, ASRM, CRE-WHiRL and IMS collaborated to address 40 key questions through 145 recommendations.
For professionals involved in the care for women with POI, this is a must-read document.
