The International Menopause Society (IMS) established the Council of Affiliated Menopause Societies (CAMS) to support the delivery of the Society’s Mission and Vision. CAMS is comprised of national and regional menopause societies. CAMS also provides support to establish menopause societies in areas where there are none.

CAMS has the following objectives:

  1. To establish connectivity and partnership working across the national and regional menopause societies and with the IMS.
  2. To actively engage in the delivery of IMS educational activities, events and World Congress, to support the development of new initiatives, and to encourage membership to the IMS within their country/region.

About GEMVI

GEMVI is a multidisciplinary reflection group on menopause and hormonal aging that is led by a Scientific Committee of 25 members, from 9 medical or surgical specialties, chosen for their recognized and complementary competence in the field of menopause.

The objectives of the GEMVI concern the medical profession, health professionals, public authorities, the media and the general public with the aim of:

  • Dissemination of the facts established in the field of menopause, hormonal aging of men and women and their consequences on health and quality of life, as well as current and future advances in diagnosis and management.
  • Training and medical research on these themes.
  • Participation and scientific exchanges with European and world experts in these same themes.

The actions of GEMVI are coordinated by an Executive Board of 9 members from the Scientific Committee and currently chaired by Professor Patrice Lopès. The creation of GEMVI benefited from the sponsorship and support of the French National College of Obstetrician Gynecologists (CNGOF) and the National Federation of Colleges of Medical Gynecology (FNCGM). A representative of these learned societies is in fact an ex officio member of the Executive Board of the GEMVI (Pr. Léon Boubli for the CNGOF and Dr. Brigitte Letombe for the FNCGM).
