The International Menopause Society (IMS) established the Council of Affiliated Menopause Societies (CAMS) to support the delivery of the Society’s Mission and Vision. CAMS is comprised of national and regional menopause societies. CAMS also provides support to establish menopause societies in areas where there are none.

CAMS has the following objectives:

  1. To establish connectivity and partnership working across the national and regional menopause societies and with the IMS.
  2. To actively engage in the delivery of IMS educational activities, events and World Congress, to support the development of new initiatives, and to encourage membership to the IMS within their country/region.

About The Korean Menopause Society


Since its inception in 1992 with its 1st annual academic conference, the Korean Society of Menopause has exerted a staunch effort in the research of menopause. It aims to foster camaraderie among its members, enhance international exchanges with foreign societies, and conduct the following initiatives:

  • Organize research presentations and academic conferences.
  • Publish academic journals and books, among others.
  • Facilitate the exchange of domestic and international scholarly literature.
  • Establish connections with international menopause societies.
  • Undertake other necessary endeavours to attain the society’s objectives

Mee-Ran Kim, MD, PhD

Dr. Mee-Ran Kim is a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, College of Medicine, at the Catholic University of Korea. She is also the vice president of Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital.
She was certified as a menopause practitioner by the North American Menopause Society in 2003.
She is a specialist in menopausal medicine, female osteoporosis, uterine fibroid, and endometriosis.

Secretary General

Jae Yen Song, MD, PhD

Dr. Song is an associate professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, College of Medicine, at the Catholic University of Korea. She is a reproductive endocrinologist at the Seoul St. Mary’s hospital. Her clinical specialty includes fibroids, endometriosis, menopause, and minimally invasive surgery including robot-assisted surgery.
She is a board member of several academic associations and societies of Korea and serves as a secretary general of the Korean Society of Menopause.
She has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications .


The Korean Menopause Society Journal


The Journal of Menopausal Medicine (JMM) is an international peer-reviewed journal, which is issued thrice annually, that is, April, August, and December. JMM is devoted to the dissemination of new knowledge pertaining to the health of mid-life and older women. JMM publishes original basic and clinical researches, review articles, brief communications, and editorials on the pathophysiology of age-related disease and therapeutic approaches for diseases afflicting mid-life and menopausal women.

JMM is the official journal of the Korean Society of Menopause, and its specific focus includes but is not limited to research on Asian women’s mid-life health with respect to genetic, ethnic, social, and environmental differences from other regions of the world.

Research areas encompassed by this journal include: aging, bone health, cardiovascular health, cognitive function, epidemiology, male menopause, menopause, mental health, nursing, nutrition and metabolism, obesity, quality of life, reproductive aging, reproductive endocrinology, sarcopenia, sexuality, sleep disorder, social care, and urogenital disorder. Basic researches with cells, tissues, and animal models are also accepted.

  • JMM is indexed, tracked, and covered by PubMed, PubMed Central, KoreaMed, Synapse, KoMCI , CrossRef, and Google Scholar.
